  NACRDB Gets 21-Day Ultimatum

A 21-day ultimarum has been handed down to the management of the Nigerian Agricultural, Cooperative and Rural Development Bank (NACRDB) Ltd to address, the demands of workers in the bank.


The ultimatum was given through a release issued in Kaduna at the weekend by the two in-house unions of the workers. The unions are the local chapters of the National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees (NUBIFIE) and the Association of Senior Staff of Banks Insurance and Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI).


Among the demands of the workers is that the NACRDB management should immediately implement the monetization policy as affecting them and to resist the collective agreement sent by NAEBIA for 35 per cent increament in their salaries and other emoluments.


It said the management should promptly release the new condition of service for the staff, reconsider the policy on furniture grant and allowance as well as reverse its decisions on housing and payment of rent by the workers in the bank’s staff quarters.
Other demands according to the release is for the management to immediately pay the dress allowance of the staff as well as to explain the total contribution by each staff to the new pension fund as at August 31,2005, the accrued interest into the fund, which bank it is deposited and signatories to the account.
