Emir Kabir Usman is Katsina Amirul Hajj

KATSINA State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema has approved the appointment of the Emir of Katsina Alhaji Abdulmumin Kabir Usman as the state Amirul Hajj and leader of the government delegation to this year’s hajj.
The Kauran Katsina, Alhaji Nuhu Abdulkadir announced the Emir’s appointment as Amirul Hajj during the traditional briefing of district, village heads and title holders in preparation of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration at the emir’s palace.
Alhaji Nuhu Abdulkadir who commended Katsina State governor for appointing the emir of Katsina to serve as this year State’s Amirul Hajj described the appointment as well deserved.
The Kauran Katsina congratulated the emir for his new appointment and wished him success in discharging his duties. Meanwhile, the Emir of Katsina Alhaji Abdulmumin Kabir Usman has enjoined leaders to fear Allah and ensure justice in dealings with their subjects.
Alhaji Abdulmumin Kabir stated this during the briefing of district, village heads and traditional title holders in preparation of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebrations.
He said leaders must account for their stewardship in the hereafter, adding that only leaders who fear Allah and work hard will be successful both in this world and hereafter.
The emir also reminded people of the importance of protecting and safeguarding government properties in their locations.
Meanwhile, Katsina State Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema has described the outbreak of cholera in some parts of the country as a catastrophe which requires concerted effort to control the situation.
The governor was speaking when he received the Minister of Health Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu on a courtesy call. The minister was on tour of states ravaged by the outbreak of cholera.
According to Governor Shehu Shema, the recent outbreak of cholera is a source of concern to government at all levels. He explained that all hands must be put on deck to control the situation to check the deaths of innocent lives.
The governor who revealed that 4,502 cases of cholera outbreak were reported with over 200 death, reiterated government’s resolve to continue collaborating with all stakeholders to remedy the situation. Earlier, the Minister of Health Professor C.O. Oneyebuchi Chukwu noted that cholera knows no bounds as such it keeps spreading and claiming lives.
He said the Federal Government will join hands with states to control the situation, saying water and sanitation must be improved as a measure against out-break of many diseases.
The minister commended Katsina State Government over how it dealt with the situation as well as for its initiatives in improving the health sector.
