Ogun State Government has declared tomorrow a work-free day to mark the death of the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential polls, Bashorun MKO Abiola.
The holiday is in line with an existing edict declaring the day as holiday to salute the contributions of Bashorun Abiola to the struggle for democracy in Nigeria .
Governor Amosun while extolling the virtues of the late Bashorun, noted that 'he paid the price for the current freedom the nation as a whole is enjoying today'.
Praying for the repose of his soul, the governor urged the leadership of the current democratic dispensation to emulate the selfless service of the late philanthropist.
"We must do all we can to ensure that we deepen our democracy and embark on policies that will impact positively on the lives of our people' Amosun said.
