PRAY FOR CONTINUED PEACE, PROSPERITY...Sultan urges Muslims

From ABUBAKAR IMAM, Sokoto
SULTAN of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III has urged Muslims in the country to continue to use this holy month of Ramadan to pray for continued peace and prosperity in the country.
He made the call yesterday at the installation ceremony of the new district-head of Rabah, Alhjaji Bello Abdullahi who succeeds his late father, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello at the Sultan palace.
The Sultan who said the new District Head was installed at a time that people are faced with abject poverty urged him to do all he can to better the lives of the people in his domain, adding that the door to the Sultanate Council is always open for him and other district heads and the council would continue to support them in cushioning the effect caused by the current hardship in their domain.
While urging him to bear in mind that it was God that made it possible for him to assume this leadership role as many had contested with him but failed, Sultan Sa’ad warned him against partisan politics as his role was only to counsel politicians on how to impact positively on the lives of the generality as well as support the government in its quest to uplift the living standard of the people of the state and Nigeria in general, adding that he should carry other members of their family along while carrying out his assignment.
He urged those that contested with him and other people of the district to take it as a will of God who gives power to whom he wishes and rally round the new district head to take their district to greater height, praying Allah to guide and protect him and to grant his deceased father eternal rest.
