Health Secretariat Takes Step Towards Better Services

Federal Capital Territory Health and Human Services Secretariat has taken a bold step to enhance Pharmaceutical Service and care at all Primary Health care facilities in the FCT using the concept of Public Private Partnership.

This was made known by the Secretary Health and Human Services, Hajiya Amina Bala Zakari at the seminar of association of Community Pharmacists Abuja Branch 2005 weekend at Merit house Abuja recently.

The Secretary who was represented by the head Pharmaceutical inspectorate, Mrs. M.A. Kazzah said some of the current reforms of government include regular interaction with various stakeholders, private organizations and professional groups to create an atmosphere of friendliness in order to generate ideas that would contribute to good governance.

She also said that HIV/AIDS without doubt remains one of the greatest challenges globally to the continuous existence and survival of human race today, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to fight this great scourge. Chairman of the Association, Pharmacist Adumen O. Superior said community pharmacists held campaign rallies on fake and counterfeit drugs at strategic locations in the city to complement the good work of NAFDAC.

Speaking earlier, the chairman organizing committee Pharm. Smart Omokurhefe said that the Association is partnering with an international organization, the society for family health to give more impetus to their campaign on family planning.
