FG TASKED ON POWER GENERATION


The Federal Government has been called upon to boost the nation’s power generation capacity by encouraging private sectors to veer into the business.
Director of Steve Group, an engineering and consulting firm. Mr. Akinola Aluko who made the call at a press conference in, Lagos lamented the terrible situation of power supply in the country.
He said all over the world countries have power provider, adding that the policy on power must change.
Aluko therefore called for the promotion of nuclear provision to make the country worth living.
He said the situation will also improve if the government can remove its hand from power management.
Also speaking at the occasion, Mr. Bryan Roy Shutes, also a director of the company said Steve Group of Companies is also a service provider to telecommunication companies like MTN, Celtel multi-links and others.
Shutes, who also said that Nigeria is moving fast and she is now using technology to her advantage adding that the GSM is helping the masses and the market in Nigeria is almost beating that of South Africa making the country almost number one.
According to him, the population and the vastness of the country makes the market very attractive and Steve group is helping in that area.
He said however that the power supply situation in Nigeria is not the worst as it happens also in other countries.
