SARS vows to continue with intercepted vehicles investigation

THE Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has said that it will continue with the investigation of the intercepted vehicles along Kaduna-Abuja expressway. The Head of Information Unit Capt. Ahmed Abdullahi Modibbo dropped the hint while briefing journalists in their office recently.

He said though the squad lost a gallant officer but that dose not mean the official engagement of the office would be neglected, adding that the squad has vowed to rid the country of smugglers who get in through the borders.

“You would recall that before the death of the head of the squad some vehicles were intercepted along Kaduna-Abuja express way and some arrests were made including a Niger Republic national”, Capt. Modibbo said further. He warned smugglers to be ready for total war as the squad would not leave any stone unturned to stop their nefarious activities that is hampering the economic base of the country.

Capt. Modibbo said the mandate given to the squad must be accomplished as the government is serious about the battered economy, “Mr. President has given his word that the nation must rank among the economic buoyant nations by 2010, this is a task that must be vigorously faced”, he added.
It would be recalled that the head of Special Anti-Robbery Squad Col. Chukuora Anayo was killed last month by suspected assassins.
