THE Edo State Coordinator, Goodluck Support Group, Victor Edos Ebomoyi challenged stakeholders in the state to decide who presides over the affairs of the country by focusing critically on the challenges confronting the country.
Ebomoyi, who made the submission while inaugurating the state and local government executive members of the Good luck Support Group (GSG) urged the people to rally round President Good Luck Jonathan in ensuring that he contests the 2011 presidential elections, just as all present at the town hall meeting resolved to prevail on the president to run the 2011 and at the same time to reach out to their party men in the North and Nigerians in general.
The inauguration ceremony which had in attendance representatives of Chief Tony Anenih, Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia, Admiral Mike Akhigbe , Chief Lucky Igbinedion, Professor Osarhiemen Osunbor General Godwin Abbe, Chief Mike Oghiadome and Engineer Chris Ogiemwonyi enjoined the people of the state to join forces with other progressive in ensuring that the projects succeeds.
Similarly, the South-South Coordinator of the Youth Ask for Goodluck (YAG), Mr. Zakari Ayonote, has appealed to Nigerians to throw behind President Jonathan so that he can emerge as the elected president in 2011.
He traced Dr. Jonathan’s antecedent to his days as the deputy governor of Bayelsa State and later Vice-President of the country, affirming that he had never shirked in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Ayonote in describing Dr. Jonathan in superlative terms stated: “He is a very peaceful person; a very loyal servant. That could be seen when the then President Umar Yar’Adua was critically ill.
“If he Jonathan was a disloyal person he would have instigated people to assume the position of president but he waited patiently to allow the issue to be resolved constitutionally.”
“He is actually on the verge of completing the programmes he and late Yar’Adua started. I am very sure that with his pedigree, Dr. Jonathan will perform satisfactorily such that the generality of Nigerians would clamour for a continuation in 2011,” he said.
