Tornadoes: DAVID RETURNED ...Dauda-led board sacked, FA dissolved

From SAIDU ABUBAKAR, Kaduna
FORMER board member of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) and chairman of the Niger Tornadoes Management Committee Mr. Suleiman David has crept back as chairman of the club following the sacking of the Yusuf Dauda-led management committee of the club.
Sources close to the Niger State government revealed to the New Nigerian Sports on phone that Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu who endorsed the sacking of the club’s management due to non-delivery since the league season commnced “has every reason to take the action because the team lost its first three matches including losing 2-1 at home to Kaduna United.
Mr. Suleiman David who handed over to Yusuf Dauda now has Alhaji Umar Abdullahi as secretary and former Super Falcons assistant coach Danladi Nasidi as team manager.
Governor Aliyu’s resolve to sack the Yusuf Dauda-led mangement may not be unconnected with the gulping of over 150 million Naira for the club to improve on last season’s near disastrous performance.
Also affected by the governor’s hammer were the state’s Director of Sports Mr. Daniel Shashere who has now been reassigned as an acting permanent secretary.
One area of contention that is likely to attract the wrath of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is the sacking of the state’s Football Association (FA) board for Tornadoes’ failures.
Pundits view the FA’s dissolution as illegal and contrary to the statutes of the NFF on which all the state FAs were constituted. Already, however, an electoral committee headed by a retired FIFA-badged referee, AlhajiMu’azu Hamid for a fresh Niger State FA has also been appointed according to our impeccable source.
