Cabinet reshuffle imminent in Yobe

From BABATUNDE BISHOP, Damaturu
THERE is an uneasy calm in Yobe State over the intention of Governor Mamman Bello Ali to reshuffle his cabinet, a development that has since attracted more goodwill messages and jingles on some electronic media in the state from the political class.
Journalists in the state have since been inundated with calls as to when the state governor would take action, but our correspondent reliably gathered that the new cabinet members would soon be appointed following recent court victories by the governor.
According to a reliable source, “this is to give the governor an ample opportunity to bring in some eligible politicians that will see to his vision toward the development of the state, because the present ones were selected in order to play along with the previous governor’s continuity agenda.”
Another reason for the reshuffle, according to feelers in the Government House, is that one of the sister states’ (Brono) Governor Modu Sheriff has just reshuffled his cabinet, and is believed to have the same political ideology with Governor Ali. “I believe oga is going to do the same soon,” the source who pleaded anonymous said.
The source further stated that no fewer than 80 politicians of both the ruling party and opposition parties members were jostling for various political offices, while over half of the immediate past executive council members are lobbying the governor for a second chance.
