Ban Ki-Moon lauds FCT administration

THE United Nations Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon has lauded the efforts of the FCT Administration in the area of Primary Health Care delivery to the women and children in rural areas.
The Secretary General stated this in a personal signed commendation letter to the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed after his tour of Nigeria where he visited the Maitama District Hospital as well as Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Dutsen Makaranta, a suburb of Abuja.
Mr. Ban Ki-Moon expressed satisfaction with the efforts Nigeria has put in implementing its Primary Health Care Programme especially the giant strides of the FCT Administration in supporting women and children's health.
The Secretary General reiterated that the programme "Every Woman; Every Child" recognises sustainable progress on women and children's health and thus requires concerted multi-sectoral action from all stakeholders in a combined final push to reach the health Millennium Development Goals.
Mr. Ban Ki-Moon remarked that his encounter with the people of Nigeria, particularly the residents of the FCT were both enlightening and inspiring and assured that the United Nations is looking forward to partnering and working with the FCT Administration for the common good of humanity. |
