Police arrest Mbadinuju

late NBA Chairman and his pregnant wife, Mrs Amaka Igwe.
The former governor who came to the court in his Mercedes Jeep marked Dl 931ABC was prevented from entering same by the some plain clothed policemen after the court proceedings despite the intervention of his counsel.
He had sought an order of the court to compell the police to respect an Onitsha High Court judgement in August 2007 which exonerated him from the assassination of the couple.
As soon as he made out his case, the police counsel told the court they needed time to respond, and the judge, Justice Abubakar Talba obliged them and adjourned to July 22 for further hearing.
As he walked out of the court and noticed that about three policemen were following him, he quickly rushed back the courtroom and remained there for more than an hour even though it did not avert the arrest. He eventually came out and they took him away.
The police charge sheet which was brought against the former governor by Mr Simon Lough of the FCT Police Command read that he tendered the allegedly forged document before the Onitsha High Court to obtain the judgement that exonerated him from the murder of the late NBA chief.
The charges read: “That you Dr Clement Chinwoke Mbadinuju “M” of Ndikpo Village Uli, Ihiala LGA of Anambra State on or about the 16th 0f May, 2003 at Asokoro Abuja within the Abuja Judicial division forged a Police investigation report No CB: 2003/IGP.SEC/ABJ/Vol.12/347 dated 16th May 2003, titled – Police Investigation Report, Re – case of murder, addressed to the Presidency, Aso Rock Villa Abuja, purported to have been signed by Mr Solomon E Arase Ag.
