Obakpolor banks on Amodu’s experience

Report _____________________________________________________

Super Eagles coach, Amodu Shaibu has been advised to have a mapped out strategy in order to achieve success in his fourth stint on the plum job of handling the national team.

This much was forwarded by former chairman of Nigeria Football Association, Group Captain John Obakpolor (rtd), who said in a chat with brilafm.net that the ex-BCC Lions of Gboko and Orlando Pirates of South Africa coach’s experience would be brought to the fore with the team.

“I personally do not believe that the task before Amodu is setting targets for him, because he has the experience to make the job successful.

“They are saying take us to the World Cup and Nations Cup, but it should be more about counting on Amodu to be successful since he has the experience of leading the team before and the nation would be best for it now that he is back with them,” the retired air force officer stated.

Obakpolor went further to condemn the frequent sack of coaches in the country and urged Nigerians and the NFA to give Amodu ample time to work, without expecting any form of magic from him.
