MYSTERY OF GODLINESS

Last Updated Sunday, August 24, 2008

This made in heaven virtuous quality of ‘the woman’ is definitely scarce in many women today. This is because their wisdom laid upon how much rubies they and the men desiring them could be worth. So, what we have in the world today are relationships based on rubies.

A search for ‘the virtuous woman’

The Omni-science all-knowing God, within His majestic divinity in the heavens and His ruling power in the kingdom of men, has manifested His undying love towards mankind in that He has revealed to us through His word every good thing of life which He ever desired for us, among which is the finding by the man a woman with spiritual virtue as his companion.
Within the sphere of this love is this exceptional revelation of His concept of the virtuous woman which is found to be synonymous with her being goodly, righteous, worthy, honorable, of high moral character, upright and honest.
Whenever this quality is found in any woman, it is capable of changing for the better her life, the life of the man that finds her as well as the life of the society they are meant to benefit around them.
In Proverbs 31:10a, the loving heart of God, while casting a second look at this spiritual high quality with which He had made the virtuous woman and seeing how seemingly unqualified the man desiring her company may be had asked the man a thought provoking question, saying, “who can find a virtuous woman”?
On the other hand, this question seems to show that it is not all available women that could possess this spiritual quality and as such it may be difficult, if not impossible, for some men to find the virtuous women whenever they desire them. This is because, according to verse 10b of this Proverbs reference, “her price is more than rubies.” This is to say that the worth of the virtuous woman is not what any currency, gold, silver, bronze or other expensive precious stones could possibly buy. This is because her value is not of the temporal things but things of eternal in quality.
Her characteristics
In a further revelation of her highly spiritual quality, God has, in verses 11-27 of this Proverbs reference, shown further the following characteristics which He has created in the virtuous woman which is to the delight of the man that finds her. They are,
(a) “Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.” (b) “She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.” © “She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.” (d) “She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.”  (e) “She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her women servants.”  (f) “She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.”
Others are, (g) “She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.” (h)”She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.” (i) “In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.”(j) “She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.” (K) “When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.”
Additionally, (l) “She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.” (m) “Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.”  (n) “She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.” (o) “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” (p) “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” (q) “She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”
It is of note that her virtue is replicated in her children because, according to verse 27, “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:”
This made in heaven virtuous quality of ‘the woman’ is definitely scarce in many women today. This is because their wisdom laid upon how much rubies they and the men desiring them could be worth. So, what we have in the world today are relationships based on rubies.
On the other hand, the men folk also seem to have compounded this already bad situation by believing, albeit wrongly, in their hearts that the way to find a virtuous woman is by the provision of as much rubies as they could possibly lay their hands upon, the outcome of which is a virtue less and contrary relationships between men and women.
This life outcome becomes the major reason why things are not going on well with a societal majority. It is not however not late for such people to make corrections because the Lord Jesus, in Matthew 11:28, has called all men and women who are associated in virtue less relationships to, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give rest.” .
