Two Police Officers Jailed for Corrruption

Two Police officers, ASP Isaac Oliseh and ASP Kwapkur Riemsim have been jailed three years by the High Court Nasarawa State sitting in Lafia.
The two were arrainged for offences of conspiracy and confering corrupt advantage contrary to sections 26 and 19 of the Corrupt Practices and other related offences Act 2000. They were accused of demanding for N10, 000 and receiving the sum of N5, 000 from one Prince Chinedu to release his brother on bail. They pleaded not guilty and the matter was set down for trial.
The Prosecutiion from the ICPC called four witnesses and closed its case whle the accused persons testified in their defense. At the close of the matter, Counsel addressed the court and the matter was set down for judgemnent which was delivered on the 28th of July 2008.
The Court presided over by Justice Ramalau convicted the two accused persons and sentenced them to a term of three years imprisonment each.
